Taylor Swift's 'Speak Now': This is the song you must hear on new version of her album

Fans of Taylor Swift may now hear her speak once more thanks to the new version of her 2010 single, "Speak Now."

After the painful aftermath from the sale of her original master recordings in 2020, Swift decided to rerelease the album as "Taylor's Version," making it the third in her catalogue to do so. (It is preceded by "Fearless" and "Red").

The 14 original tracks from "Speak Now" have been rerecorded on "Taylor's Version," which also includes the songs "Ours" and "Superman" from the bonus version that was published in 2010. The album's standout tracks, such as "Back to December," "Mine," "Sparks Fly," and "Mean," keep their integrity while sporting a more polished gloss and Swift's consistently assured vocals.

Swifties with keen ears also noted that most of the songs' lengths varied by one or two seconds. Additionally, the line "She's better known for the things that she does on the mattress" has been changed in the song "Better Than Revenge" to "He was a moth to a flame, she was holding the matches."

However, the six brand-new 'vault' songs, two of which include Fall Out Boy (on the anthem 'Electric Touch') and Paramore's Hayley Williams (on the swooping ballad 'Castles Crumbling'), are the real treat for fans.

What "Speak Now" songs does Taylor Swift perform during her Eras Tour?

With only one song, "Enchanted," chosen to represent that time in her career, Swift's references to "Speak Now" have been subtle on her massive Eras Tour.

Swift sang "Dear John" as one of the two "surprise" songs she plays at each show on June 24 in Minneapolis, teasing the album's rerelease. She begged her followers not to bully John Mayer online before beginning the roughly seven-minute blistering musical account of her connection with him when she was 19 years old.

You shouldn't feel the need to defend me online against someone you believe I may have written a song about since I'm not releasing this album, she said.
